Some of my #AdultESOL students are not comfortable with #GoogleDrive or #GoogleDocs, so I made this short video for them. It covers opening Google Drive from Gmail, creating a document, and sharing the doc.

Got a lot done on #AdultESOL prep (for both classes). Even recorded a video to help students get started with #GoogleDrive and #GoogleDocs. Created a couple of brainstorming worksheets, too.
I think I'm finding my footing with the #BESL8 class. It is an intro to writing class for students who are approaching college-ready English skills.
If I have some time tomorrow, I'll do some work on my #AgeVerification website idea. I'd like to get that on #NeoCities this coming week
#K12 second semester and new #AdultESOL term off to a busy start. Teaching two levels of #AdultESL this term, one on weekend, one weekday evenings.
Unfortunately, state mandated end of term testing starts in February and basically continues until May.
Productive and educational (no pun intended) week. Completed a lot of prep for the new #k12 school year. Have more new (to our school) #EnglishLearners than I expected, so that's great news.
As always, looking forward to #AdultESL this weekend. Prepping for that now, then going to play some old-school #Quake3.
Feels like Friday. #ProfessionalDevelopment went well at work today. Meeting at the #CommunityCollege went well.
No #AdultESOL (#AdultESL) class this weekend, so don't have to prep or grade today.
I should exercise, but I think I'll finish John Wick 4 instead.
#AdultESOL (#AdultESL) class went well today. Only two classes left in this term. Taking a term off this summer for the first time since ... I don't remember when.
We get #k12 #ESOL assessment scores tomorrow. Can't wait to see how my students did. Also the day that some of the #EMEB students get an early start of final exams, so I may not actually have time to check the state testing results.
Can't believe only 1 week left with students this school year. Flew by.
Just finished updating my class workbook for the next term of #AdultESL.
75 pages, including guided notes, worksheets, practice tests, assignment info, and misc extras.
Easy to do in #Linux, with #Inkscape, #LibreOffice, #TexLaTeX, and lastly #PDFArranger to put everything together.
(I didn't just make all 75 pages - tweaked and put together docs I've made over the years that I've been teaching this class.)
#AdultESL is between terms, so I have two weekends off! I love teaching the weekend classes, but I have a M-F job also. The 2 weeks off after 8 weeks of classes is a welcome break.
Wife took today off, so we're #baking / #cooking:
* bread
* pasta (new machine)
* udon
* scones
If there's any time left, I'll start prep for the next term. Always little tweaks to make to plans and materials, even after ~6 years of teaching the class.
#AdultESL term over for me today.
As with most classes, I had great students, from all over the world, this term (48 hours over 8 weeks).
Two weekends off, then start a new term with 25 new students. Can't wait.
Speaking of next term, it would be great if the school took Eid off, and not just Easter.
Currently doing Eng proficiency testing M-F in k12.
Okay, time to go study #español. One more chapter to do before class tomorrow.
#Spanish class going well, but falling behind on the vocab (there is sooo much vocab). Also, I don't recommend working 7 days a week AND taking a college class on campus in the evenings. At least, not when you are in your 50s.
#AdultESL class ends this weekend, though, and then I have two weekends off. Plan to study Spanish vocab.
Currently only 7 signed up for next term, but it is still very early, so that's actually a lot.
#AdultESL #BasicEnglish class (that I teach) went well today.
#Spanish class (in which I am a student) is going well, but it is a lot of work. (#FlippedClassroom)
#StateTesting starts next week in my Mon-Fri #k12 job.
I'm going to be exhausted well before the end of May, I'm sure.
Normally, I teach Basic English is the summer, too, but not this summer. Taking the full 2 months off.
I only realized this week how busy I'm going to be this semester. K-12 Mon-Fri, then adult ESL on weekends, plus the Spanish classes 2 evenings during the week (and homework the other evenings). This is going to be a fun but busy semester.
Can't believe I thought I might have time to redo my slides for the adult #ESL classes. Not going to happen.
Columbus State CC adult Basic ESL classes start up again tomorrow (2023-01-09). My weekend BESL 6 class is full!
So, today is last day having weekends off until March. (Weekdays I'm k-12 full time.)
I'm thinking watching some #StarTrek, maybe re-encoding some #Buffy with #Handbrake, and definitely playing some #IntoTheBreach.
