Tried switching to #MintMobile. What a fucking nightmare. After two weeks, 5 days with no service, I am back to my original carrier. They could not activate my eSim after hours of support calls. Took forever to assign a new one to try. Left a voice mail with my account and transfer pin with the WRONG NUMBER, not even the same area code. The people I spoke to were great. The ones handling the escalations, not so much. Sure they are good with a physical sim, but don’t bring a modern iPhone.
@terrorskull Yikes! I've had a better experience with my Pixel 6a but I expect you are correct, I went with the physical SIM. Very discouraging to know that they still haven't figured out esim a couple years later.
@barryzee glad you didn’t run into any issues. I figured by now that an eSim shouldn’t be an issues well. Feel like generally Mint is well regarded with service and cost, but I got the impression that I was far from the only one having this exact issue when calling to reactivate with my original carrier. Hope they get it figured out soon or it will be a problem for more and more people getting new iPhones (and probably others).
@terrorskull I don't like eSims. They seem full of downsides Thout outweigh the upsides. I suppose if the phone ships with one it's ok, but otherwise gimme a sim card.
But I'm also Team Headphone Jack (Courage Port) and Team SD Card.
@cousinofjah a physical sim is definitely feeling advantageous to me these days for sure!
