I would not use it simply because it's Google, but it's hard to beat free and without port forwarding. Alternative product recommendation: 

If a VPN or port forward isn't an option for you, I'm recommending RealVNC Connect these days.
They beat TeamViewer's pricing by a lot, and don't seem to be missing any features for the typical remote desktop user.
Their security's pretty good too: connections encrypted, device recognition and optional TOTP 2FA to prevent password spraying, and no open ports.

@parraparrot you need AnyDesk. Better than TeamViewer and free for personal (or unreported light business).
